Manila, 10 May 2022 –Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Executive Director Nino Raymond B. Alvina commended the local treasurers and local treasury staff in their dedication to the service as they performed important roles in the success of the 2022 national and local elections during the weekly virtual flag ceremony for employees of the BLGF central and regional offices.

“Today marks a new day as the results of the 2022 national and local elections are being ushered in for the official canvassing of votes of the next elected leaders of our country. The Filipino electorate has spoken. The voice of the people must be heard and respected, in the same way that we upheld our right to suffrage”, Executive Director Alvina said.

“On this day, many of our local treasurers, in the performance of their mandated duties during elections, are still on the frontlines in ensuring that they deliver fully the tasks on hand. On behalf of the BLGF family, I pay tribute to our local treasurers – the Bureau is one with all our local treasurers who have served the 2022 national and local elections efficiently, diligently, and with the needed integrity, given the difficulties and challenges that come along with their duties”, Executive Alvina concluded.

Executive Director Alvina also congratulated the BLGF Regional Directors for ensuring that local treasury operations and services in all provinces, cities and municipalities are unhampered during the election season.
