As part of its mandate to assist in the formulation and implementation of policies on local government revenue and fund management and to exercise administrative and technical supervision and coordination over the treasury and assessment operations of Local Government Units (LGUs), the Local Treasury Operations Division (LTOD) conducted an FGD on MELTO on 19 to 21 February 2020 at Century Hotel, Angeles City, Pampanga. The FGD was participated by selected local treasurers and BLGF officials and employees.

The 3-day FGD aims to gather inputs and identify areas for improvement of the MELTO as the standard tool in the conduct of treasury operations evaluation.

Acting Director Ricardo L. Bobis, Jr. of the Local Government Units Operation Service (LGUOS) emphasized the need for the review of the MELTO and the enhancement of the mechanisms currently being used in the evaluation of local treasury operations.

It was concluded with the drafting of a Department Order and a Memorandum Circular that will institutionalize the conduct of local treasury operations evaluation.
