ORANI, BATAAN – The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Central and Regional Directors, officials, and employees, participated in the BLGF Planning Conference for FY2022 held last 26 to 29 April 2022 at the Vista Tala Hotel, Orani, Bataan.
Executive Director Niño Raymond Alvina, in his opening message, welcomed the officials and employees of the BLGF and appreciated their efforts for making the event possible.
“This planning conference is the proper avenue to gather insights and further actions towards the next administration and transition to the new priorities of the incoming Secretary of Finance. We need to have an open mindset to absorb the directions along the lines of the milestones accomplished in the last 5 to 6 years”, Executive Director Alvina said.
Executive Director Alvina presented the Business Review Report to the Secretary, which include the Bureau’s FY2021 Year-end report, FY2022 goals and targets, and major local finance milestones. Regional Directors also presented their major accomplishments, issues on administrative, financial, and operations, and proposed transition plans for the next Administration.
Emerging directions, agreements, and strategies were identified in the said conference focusing on the Bureau’s capacity building interventions, full implementation of the Local Finance Management Modernization Program, expansion of the BLGF ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS), sustained implementation of the Standardized Examination and Assessment for Local Treasury Service (SEAL) program, treasury appointments, and initiatives and improvements on administrative, local fiscal, Package 3 advocacy, and digitalization.
The planning conference also tackled the revisiting of the BLGF strategic plan 2019-2022, presentation of proposed annual work plans from the Legal Service, Local Fiscal Policy Service, LGU Operations Service, and Administrative, Financial, and Management Service, gender and development (GAD) for the Local Governance Reform Project (LGRP), other administrative and operational matters.
