Manila City – The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) culminated its 35th founding anniversary month-long celebration through the conduct of the BLGF Employees’ Day, spearheaded by the BLGF Employees’ Association, held last 28 October 2022 via Zoom, which was participated by the Bureau’s Central and Regional officials and employees.
Acting Deputy Executive Director Armi M. Advincula recognized the BLGF employees as the greatest assets in achieving improvements in local government finance.
“This Bureau will not be standing for 35 years without its greatest asset: its employees. We empower local governments by providing administrative, technical assistance, and capacity-building interventions because we want the local economy to be developed and sustained in the long run. That is the vision we aim for and work for every day the moment we enter the BLGF office halls and perform our duties”, Acting Deputy Executive Director Advincula said.
The culminating event highlighted two (2) activities: the Virtual Zoombaholic, hosted by the BLGF Regional Office No. XII; and the winners of the Brochure Making Contest which was participated in by fifteen (15) regional offices, aimed to promote the Bureau’s products and services as aligned with the anniversary theme: Driving LGUs toward Digital Transformation and Innovation. The winners in the said contest are: (i) BLGF Regional Office No. V – grand winner; (ii) BLGF Regional Office No. XI – 1st runner-up; and (iii) BLGF Regional Office Mimaropa – 2nd runner-up.
In a closing statement, Director II of the LGU Operations Service, Mr. Ricardo L. Bobis, Jr., expressed gratitude to the officials and employees for being reliable and trustworthy in fulfilling the Bureau’s mandate.
