Pasay City – The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) participated in the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) Telco Summit 2022 entitled “Open Data. Open Innovation. One Nation”, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on 06 December 2022.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. led the said first telco summit which gathered key telco players, regulating agencies and private stakeholders, and experts to discuss efforts in harmonizing the government’s initiatives on streamlining and digitalization for the telecommunications sector.
In his keynote message, President Marcos, Jr. emphasized the importance of the telco industries and digitalization in improving the ease of doing business in the country.
“I am very happy to be able to join at this Telco Summit, which I am sure is going to be important and instrumental in realizing our vision of a truly digital Philippines. I think that it is impossible to overstate the importance of the telco industries, the importance of digitalization, the importance of improving the ease of doing business for all the plans that we have for the Philippines. And that’s why my gratitude goes to the organizers of the event, to ARTA, its partner agencies, for your shared efforts to engage stakeholders towards developing a fast and developing telecommunications system and digitalization of our systems in our country”, President Marcos Jr., said.
The BLGF, together with the ARTA and other concerned agencies, worked on the drafting of the Manual for the Implementation of the Guidelines for Processing Business Permits and Related Clearances and Licenses in All Cities and Municipalities, in line with Section 10.2.3 of the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1, Series of 2021 entitled Guidelines for Processing Business Permits, Related Clearances, and Licenses in All Cities and Municipalities, to help LGUs in complying with the standards and policies in business registration.
