The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) and the Department of Finance (DOF), in line with the current thrust in the valuation reform initiatives, engaged in different meetings relative to the Proposed Real Property Valuation Reform under Package 3 of the Comprehensive Tax Reform Program (CTRP).

The DOF and BLGF contingent led by Acting Chief Atty. Esperanza Aggalao-Ticangan and Ms Laurice Jane Navarro had a briefing with Congressman Mario Mariño on 04 November 2019 in Quezon City, in preparation for the plenary deliberations on the Package 3 on 05 November 2019.

The plenary session was called to order by Deputy Speaker Representative Rodante Marcoleta (SAGIP Partylist). On this, Congressman Mariño clarified that the House Bill No. 4664 or the Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act is anchored on the rationalization of the real property market value.

Likewise, BLGF Deputy Executive Director Jose Arnold M. Tan had a briefing with the academe, the UP School of Urban and Regional Planning (UP SURP) and UP Planners Organization (UP PLANO), on the Package 3 of CTRP on 08 November 2019. DED Tan also emphasized the vital role of UP SURP in the technical and capacity building in the preparation and updating of the national and local development plans.
