Bureau of Local Government Finance OIC Director Ma. Pamela P. Quizon, and Department of the Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Martin B. Diño, met and discussed matters concerning barangay local fiscal policy issues on 30 May 2019 at the Office of the Undersecretary for Barangay Affairs, Quezon City.

In particular, the discussions focused on the submission of Barangay Financial Statements in the LGU Integrated Financial Tool (LIFT) System, information dissemination of existing regulations on the collection of fees and charges, development of model for Barangay Revenue Code, borrowings of barangays, and other policy issues of barangays. Director Quizon also emphasized the importance of capturing barangay fiscal data, disseminating information among barangays and the need to create a model of Barangay Revenue Code.

Joining the meeting is Ms Reinelda C. Raffinan, Chief of Community Capacity Development Division of the National Barangay Operations Office (NBOO).

The involved agencies are expected to meet in the following weeks to start the groundwork for the formulation of policies.
