Last 30 January 2019, delegates from the Provincial Public Accounts Committee of the Western Province Provincial Council of Sri Lanka visited the Department of Finance to discuss public accountability and transparency in the implementation of programs and projects. The International Exposure is designed to provide the delegates knowledge on the different public accounting and transparency initiatives aiming for an efficient public service delivery at the local level.

The Bureau of Local Government Finance, through Director Ma. Pamela P. Quizon, discussed the administration and financial regulations of local governments.

Likewise, Director Quizon noted that there is still an on-going policy review of the Local Government Code (LGC) to be suited to the geographic demands for better, more efficient service delivery in more than 7,000 islands in the country.
