London, the United Kingdom – The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Executive Director Consolacion Q. Agcaoili successfully participated in the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Investor Roundtable and Climate Bonds Global Conference to Support Municipal Bonds Issuances in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), on 08 to 10 November 2023 in London, the United Kingdom.
The said program is included in the ADB’s ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility (ACGF) Green, Social, Sustainable and Other Labeled (GSS+) Bonds Initiative for Southeast Asia which aims to strengthen the understanding and approaches to support the municipal bond issuances in the ASEAN region. The participants also explored the recent developments in the sustainable finance area, including the transition finance, and different approaches adopted by various countries in attaining a greener economy.
The ACGF is a regional green financing vehicle under the ASEAN Infrastructure Fund (AIF) of the ADB and ASEAN countries which targets to accelerate green infrastructure investments in Southeast Asia and provide developing ASEAN member governments with technical support and access to over $1.9 billion in loans. The technical assistance and loans are to support governments to prepare and cover the upfront capital investment costs of commercially viable green infrastructure projects.
