Manila – Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Executive Director Ms. Consolacion Q. Agcaoili, together with the Administrative, Financial, and Management Service Director Pascualito V. Lapiña, Local Fiscal Policy Service Director Ricardo L. Bobis, Jr., Information Systems Management Division (ISMD) Acting Chief Mr. Francis Jordan R. Arbo, Administrative Division Acting Chief Ms. Grace Louie M. Boongaling, and technical personnel from the BLGF Local Treasury Operations Division and ISMD, participated in the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Workshop on the Integration of eGovPay and eLGU Systems held on April 11, 2024, at the Department of Finance (DOF) Manila.
In her opening remarks, BLGF Executive Director Agcaoili underscored the critical role of the BLGF in addressing the digitalization of its services and the financial reports of local government units (LGUs).
“Many LGUs are raising specific concerns on digitalization. LGU finances are complicated compared with the national government finances, hence, BLGF faces more challenges on the proper capture of local finance data in the LGU finance system to be developed,” the Executive Director said.
The said workshop discussed gaps and issues during the integration process and identified compliance, regulatory, and security considerations of the eGovPay and eLGU systems.
Moving forward, the BLGF and DICT will work on the policy guidelines and system improvements in response to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s directive to digitalize all government processes, streamline transactions, and enhance efficiency of service delivery.
