The Bureau of Local Government Finance signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Rare, an International Conservation Organization on 28 November 2018. The BLGF-Rare partnership aims to establish ways on working together to further understand the profiles of the fishing sector of the coastal LGUs and to identify ways on how to enhance greater financial inter-cooperation.

Following the signing of MOU was its first preparatory meeting held last 21 January 2019 led by the Executive Director Niño Raymond B. Alvina and Rare Strategy, Partnerships and Development Director Paolo Roberto Domondon.
