Bacoor City – Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Administrative, Financial, and Management Service (AFMS) Director Pascualito V. Lapiña, on behalf of BLGF Executive Director Consolacion Q. Agcaoili, delivered a message of support of the Paleng-QR Program during its grand launch in Bacoor City, on March 5, 2024, at the Strike Gymnasium, Bacoor City, Cavite.

In his message, Director Lapiña relayed the BLGF’s full support to the strengthening of the QR Ph initiative towards full acceptance of digital payments in all cities and municipalities in the country.

“The BLGF expresses its full support for this innovative mechanism. Through the Department of Finance (DOF), the BLGF is developing an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Standard Policy that would set the guidelines on the adoption of electronic transactions for LGUs’ treasury and assessment operations, and the BLGF’s operations and services, pursuant to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s directive of digitizing and streamlining government processes to enhance the ease of doing business”, Director Lapiña said.

Since the issuance of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Joint Memorandum Circular No. 01 in 2022, 17 cities are implementing the Paleng-QR program, contributing to the promotion of digital payment ecosystem and financial inclusion in the country.

The said launching event was also attended by BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, DILG CALABARZON Regional Director, Engr. Ariel O. Iglesia, Bacoor City Mayor, Honorable Strike B. Revilla, Bacoor City Vice Mayor, Honorable Rowena Mendiola-Bautista, and financial service providers and residents of Bacoor City.
