MUNICIPALITY OF PATEROS – The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Capacity Building Division (CBD), in collaboration with the Municipality of Pateros led by its Local Chief Executive Mayor Miguel Ponce III, conducted a Training Workshop on the Use and Application of the Local Fees and Charges (LFC) Toolkit, held last 12 to 14 October 2022 at the SB Session Hall, Municipality of Pateros, Manila. The said event was participated by the department heads and technical staff of the Treasury Office, Business Permits and Licensing Office, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, Sanitation Office, Assessors Office, Engineering and Building Office, and members of the Sangguniang Bayan and Local Finance Committee.

Acting Deputy Executive Director Armi M. Advincula, in an opening message, emphasized the importance of setting the fees and charges in updating revenue ordinance and codes and attaining good local governance.

“It has been generally said that the setting of fees and charges is upon the sound judgment of the Sanggunian concerned, being in the best position to determine such imposition. This is very important, especially, in terms of attracting investments and improving competitiveness”, Acting Deputy Executive Director Advincula said.

The said training workshop is designed to capacitate the local treasurer, assistant treasurer, and the department heads of the income-generating offices of Pateros on the procedural aspects of the DOF-DILG Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2019-01 on the Guidelines for the Review, Adjustment, Setting and/or Adoption of Reasonable Regulatory Fees and Charges of Local Government Units and the operationalization of the LFC toolkit.
