Tagaytay City – 06 July 2022. The Capacity Building Division, Legal Division, Policy, Planning, Programming and Standards Division, and Administrative Division of the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF), conducted the Workshop on the Development of Policies and Guidelines on the Competency Framework for Local Treasurers and Standardization of CBD Forms and Templates, held last 06 July 2022 at the Alta D’ Tagaytay Hotel, Tagaytay City.

Executive Director Niño Raymond B. Alvina commended the said divisions for holding its first workshop on competency framework. “We are now transforming our capacity building activities, particularly training, as competency-based learning and development initiatives, for the BLGF personnel, including local treasurers and assessors. As this workshop will tackle five (5) topics, I would like to set my expectations first on the proposed policy that we will submit to our new Secretary of Finance Benjamin E. Diokno”, Alvina said in a welcome message.

The said workshop aimed to gather an in-depth understanding and feedback on the pilot implementation of the Competency Framework (CF), identify areas for further improvement and growth, revisit and update current training policies and guidelines, and standardize forms and templates relative to competency-based training and development of local treasurers and assistant treasurers.

The draft Department Order its Competency Framework and the corresponding BLGF Memorandum Circular to effect implementation is to be submitted to the new Secretary of Finance.
