TAGAYTAY CITY – The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Central and Regional Directors and technical staff participated in the Policy Workshop on the Finalization of Policies on Local Taxation last 16 to 20 August 2022 at the Hotel Dominique, Tagaytay City.

Deputy Executive Director Atty. Flosie F. Fanlo-Tayag, in an opening message, emphasized the BLGF’s commitment in releasing timely local fiscal policies.

“The BLGF is committed to develop local fiscal policies that will be responsive to the changing context of our country and that can help local government units in adjusting to their environment”, Fanlo-Tayag said.

The policy workshop is an undertaking by the Local Fiscal Policy Service (LFPS) aimed to refine two (2) policies – the proposed Draft Model Local Revenue Codes (LRCs) for LGUs and Review Guide, and the accessibility of information sharing between the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and LGUs for tax collection purposes.

The draft policies once approved by the Secretary of Finance will facilitate LGUs’ access to information on revenue collections and efficient tax administration and will capacitate provinces, cities, and municipalities to create and review their own local revenue codes efficiently and effectively.
