The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) joined the 2019 Regional Local Government Units (LGUs) Convergence organized by the Department of Education (DepEd) conducted on the following dates:
- 29 October 2019 in Region V – Executive Director Niño Raymond B. Alvina together with OIC Chief of Local Financial Data Analysis Division (LFDAD) Ms Cynthia G. Faurillo; and
- 14 November 2019 in Region VI – Executive Director Niño Raymond B. Alvina together with BLGF Region VI Director Herminigilda Garsula.
The program was developed to engage LGUs in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao on the efficient use of the Special Education Fund (SEF) and to strengthen the shared governance responsibilities. The program also engaged DepEd to identify the issues and fill the gaps in public service delivery specifically local education governance.
Executive Director Niño Raymond B. Alvina discussed the Proposed Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform under Package 3 of the Comprehensive Tax Reform (CTRP) and presented the benefits of the reform in the efficient and proper SEF utilization.
