In his opening message, BLGF Regional Office No. VII Regional Director Jessie B. Doctolero, underscored the BLGF’s role in overseeing the administrative, technical supervision, and coordination of the local government units (LGUs) treasury and assessment operations.
“We are fully committed to equipping you with the tools you need to excel in your responsibilities. The goal of this training-workshop is to empower you to effectively contribute to the overall development of LGUs”, Director Doctolero said.
In his closing message, BLGF Executive Director Niño Raymond B. Alvina reassured the participants of the BLGF’s steadfast commitment to supporting the professional development of local assessors. He congratulated the organizers, the LGRP Component 4 team, the National Training Firm, the Local Government Academy, and the participants for their continuous pursuit of excellence.
“Let me take this opportunity to underscore the significance of comprehensive competency-based training on the preparation of Schedule of Market Values (SMV). This is crucial to ensure that our assessors are competent in providing accurate and fair property valuation. Professionalized assessors are pivotal in achieving sustained professional development among our assessors. This endeavor is the initial step towards this journey”, Executive Director Alvina emphasized.
The said training is part of the initiatives of the Component 4 of the LGRP aimed to design a more comprehensive Schedule of Market Values (SMVs) training program for local assessors, create a competent pool of learning facilitators, trainers, and subject matter experts, and assist local assessors in their professional development. The LGRP, a four-year project loan grant of the ADB, aims to enhance local governments’ revenue mobilization and strengthen local governance in the country.
