On 14 January 2019, the Bureau of Local Government Finance joined and assisted the Philippine-Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (PH-EITI) Multi-stakeholders Group (MSG) and pertinent government agencies in mainstreaming Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) implementation in the country.

EITI has been used as a platform for dialogue by stakeholders, and as a source of credible information to inform policies on the appropriate fiscal regime for mining.

Through this workshop, the BLGF and PH-EITI aims to craft and develop a PH-EITI Roadmap and Work Plan – the Systematic Electronic Extractive Disclosure (SEED) Initiative as part of the package of innovations appropriate in the Philippine context. In the coming years, it is envisioned to establish an efficient system that can maintain both the present and future requirements.
